The sister missionaries and John
We saw these soldiers in the summer with sweat pouring off their faces. The interesting thing in this picture is that they are inside a building, but there is a large opening in the roof of the building over the Eternal Flame. The snow had blown in that opening.
Can you see our breath?
We didn't walk to the base of the statue this windy, bitter day....but to the left of statue you can see someone who did.
Grieving Woman statue is even more touching with snow on it.

Volgograd Center-Flags are up in celebration of Feb 2, 1943 being the day the Germans surrendered here.
Unfinished apartment building across from us. Ice crystals are on utility lines, but also forming a pattern on the outside of the building, probably where there is metal under the stucco.
