SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEER

It finally looks like Christmas in Pleasant Grove. John and I shoveled 5-6" this morning about 6AM and then when we were done, it started to snow harder. I was going visiting teaching about 11, so at 10:30 I thought I'd clear the driveway off again.
A few minutes after I started, I noticed a car stop across the street and 2 young men came running across the street to help me. They got a couple more shovels from the garage and we had the walks and driveway cleared in no time! (about 3 more inches). Come to find out they were both recently returned missionaries from the Ukraine (where they speak Russian) and the Phillipines. I gave them some baked goodies I just happened to have on hand and was even able to thank the one in Russian and even more amazing,he understood me! They gladdened my heart and made my day!

We did most of our visiting teaching last week and only had one sister to visit today. She called and said she would understand if we didn't want to come out in the storm. I said we'd come...no problem! Well, it's a good thing we didn't cop out, because my partner, Janet, said her visiting teachers had come this morning. Janet had called one of her visiting teachers --Sis. Yorgason (who turns 99 on Saturday) to tell her not to come out, but that she would come to Sis. Yorgason's home to be taught. Sis. Yorgason said that her partner was bringing her and they were coming...and she wouldn't hear of any other plan!

What a beautiful day!

Burying A Time Capsule

We enjoyed Thanksgiving at the cabin with all of our family. After thanksgiving dinner we buried a time capsule
to be opened Thanksgiving 2010 when we return from our mission. We each put in something that represented us in 2008 and we each filled out a questionaire that told more about our likes and dislikes in 2008.

We buried it down by the stream.

Each grandchild took their turn shoveling in the dirt.

We stomped the dirt down.

We marked the spot...not to be touched until 2010!
