It must be summer in Sweden....

....because Swedish strawberries are being sold everywhere.

It must be summer, also, because we celebrated midsummer, by dancing around the midsummer pole.  This is Sis. Schneiber and I joining in the fun.

All the missionaries joined in.

Everyone had a great time.

Most little girls had flower wreaths on their heads (left side of picture, holding on to mom's hand) and a few wore traditional costumes.

Our hike to Utby Mountain with the missionaries capped off a fun day.

This is as dark as it gets here right now.  This is after midnight.  Then it starts getting more light at 3AM.

And we got a new car this week.  No more JLO, but now MTN  reminds us of the mountains.

Now consistent sunshine is all we ask, to complete our Swedish summer experience!

A holiday and a murder mystery

 On Sweden's National Day, June 6, we joined the rest of the missionaries and the stake members to celebrate at a park.

John is heating up the very popular disposable grills.

Over 150 stake members were there.

holidays.

 The murder mystery activity for young adults and their friends was a huge success.  The missionaries sponsored this activity and their imaginations went wild.  Missionaries also played all the parts, 12 of us

The CIA was called in to solve the murder.

They called in their very best.

The butler (complete with REAL English accent)
welcomed the guests.

The cook was busy in the kitchen.

The maids saw the body get thrown from a window.

Was it Miss Scarlet in the ballroom?

Or Mrs. Peacock in the lounge?

Or Professor Plum in the library?

Or Mrs. White in the dining room?

Or Colonel Mustard in the billiard room?

Or Mr. Green in the conservatory?

Everyone had fun trying to solve the murder, before enjoying
juice in champagne glasses and fancy delicacies.

Two even got it right....Professor Plum, in the lounge,
with the lead pipe.

Graduation Day Festivities in Göteborg!

This is graduation from Gymnasium (High School).  These are specialized schools such as (arts, science, public service, etc) that they start when they are 15.  They graduate when they are 19.  The graduations were held every day for 2 weeks at different schools around town.  This first was a huge crowd.  The ones we saw up close were smaller groups.

After a short ceremony inside the school for students and teachers, they RUN out and find their family and friends.

They find their families by the posters the families are holding of them as children. Frida, on the far left is one of our  newly baptized young adults. The 2nd from the right is Alicia, also one of our young adults.

Then they hop on these trucks and the drinking starts.  With loud music and cheers, they are driven all around downtown.  Maria is right above the C.
