This sign was posted at a certain spot. Along side the trail was a large broom. So naturally,
it was easy to misread it. At first glance Lisa thought it said,

In August we had 3 huge cottonwood trees that were leaning towards the cabin cut down. This is the wood that was left.

You cannot even get a hint of how much wood there was to be cut from these pictures. The big round ones were 3ft in diameter and he got 40-45 logs out of each.

He worked and worked and swung and swung the sledge hammer.

I hauled and hauled wheelbarrows full of wood to stack out in front. Here my friend Anne is helping. We gave all the wood away for free. Every last bit is cut and every last bit is gone. All we have to show for it is 3 tree stumps and John has a very big muscle on his right arm!

We have had fun watching lots of moose at the cabin. I took this picture from our deck as 4 moose (A bull, a cow and her two calves) all licked our salt block at the same time.

This bull was very interested in this cow and reared up and chased off another bull who was also interested.

Then our project at home was taking the big spruce tree out and cutting down the 3 aspens, killing the lawn, redoing the sprinkler system and laying sod.

We had lots of help last Thurs. laying the sod. Standing is Doug, our brother-in-law, the guy in black and white was out for a bike ride and asked if we needed help. We don't know him, but it was nice of him to help for a while.

Cheryl (John's sister) and Megan pitched in, also.

It is done and it looks great!

I didn't think there were anymore projects this fall, but a friend dropped off 40 lbs of grapes tonight and we are getting 1/2 bin of apples tomorrow that we will press for juice. Fun times!
