We had a fun Victory Day celebration on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday we went to Мамаев Курган. It was the day before May 9, so the crowds weren't so huge.

May 9 2010 was 65 years since the victory.

Flowers laid around the reflecting pool.

A group of heros.

Beautiful tulips around the Grieving Woman statue.

Another hero.

On Victory Day looking towards the Volga River. Large ships are in position to view night time fireworks show.

Cotton candy seemed to be a favorite of the day.

Katya knows the way to go.

It was fun to walk among the crowds of people.
Traffic control policewoman dressed in war time attire.

Then I had fun watching the children. This little boy was dancing all around and I had a hard time getting a picture.

This lady was happy to show off her baby.

Flag waving fun.

Russians know how to pose for pictures and they learn young!

The theme of this year's celebration...preserve the victory in your heart.

And then walking home we saw this faint rainbow over the Volga.
